PCC Simon Foster today responded to the Government’s Rape Review Report.
He said: “In the years that we’ve waited for this report, rape prosecutions have fallen to their lowest ever level across the country.
“This review is a missed opportunity for the Government to act strongly to tackle this problem head on. Their inaction is letting down victims of sexual crimes and failing to hold perpetrators to account for their actions.
“Victims need to have a Criminal Justice System they can have confidence in.”
