Engaging with communities across the West Midlands is at the heart of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s role.
Our campaigns are designed to inform, involve, and empower people, helping them to play an active part in keeping their neighbourhoods safe and supporting victims of crime.
From tackling violence against women and girls to improving road safety and funding local prevention work, our engagement campaigns use clear messaging, strong partnerships and real-world action to make a difference where it matters most.
Operation Snap
Putting dangerous driving in the spotlight, Operation Snap empowers members of the public to help make West Midlands roads safer by submitting dashcam and helmet-cam footage of dangerous driving. Our campaign has focused on raising awareness of how easy it is to report incidents and the real consequences for offenders.
By encouraging responsible road use and giving communities a voice, Operation Snap has helped improve road safety and deter reckless behaviour across the region.
Speeding Fines: Keeping Funds Local
Reinvesting penalties into prevention: this campaign explains how money from road fines and fixed penalty notices should be retained locally and reinvested into road safety, education, and crime prevention initiatives across the West Midlands.
By being transparent about where the money goes, the campaign builds public trust and demonstrates how enforcement directly supports safer communities rather than disappearing into central budgets.
A consultation with the West Midlands public overwhelmingly backed the Commissioner’s campaign.
I’m Tired of This
Challenging violence against women and girls, I’m Tired of This is a powerful video-led campaign highlighting the everyday experiences of harassment, abuse and fear faced by women and girls.
It challenges attitudes, calls out unacceptable behaviour and encourages everyone to take responsibility for change.
The campaign supports the PCC’s commitment to tackling violence against women and girls and amplifies the voices of victims, while signposting support services and encouraging reporting.
We engaged with members of the public, focus groups and women’s charities to develop the campaign and video, which has been seen more than a million times.
My Tomorrow
My Tomorrow is a partnership campaign delivered with the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP), focused on early intervention and prevention for children and young people at risk of exploitation, violence or criminal involvement.
The campaign highlights the importance of positive choices, trusted support, and timely intervention, helping young people see opportunities beyond crime and harm. It also raises awareness among parents, carers, and professionals about the signs of risk and where to find help.
By promoting education, mentoring, youth services, and community-based support, My Tomorrow reinforces the message that everyone deserves the chance to grow up safe, supported and able to shape a positive future.
Police and Crime Plan
Shaped by communities, focused on what matters.
The Police and Crime Plan sets the strategic priorities for policing and community safety across the West Midlands. Our engagement and consultation campaign played a vital role in ensuring the plan was shaped by the voices of residents, victims, partners and community organisations.
Through online surveys, public events, and targeted engagement with under-represented groups, we invited people to share their views on crime, safety, and the issues that matter most in their communities. This approach helped ensure the plan reflects real experiences and local concerns, not just organisational priorities.
The launch campaign focused on clearly explaining the new Police and Crime Plan, its priorities and how it will drive improvements in policing, prevention and victim support. By making the plan accessible and transparent, the campaign reinforced the PCC’s commitment to accountability and to working with communities to deliver safer neighbourhoods across the West Midlands.
