| Reason for Authority (Brief Summary for Publication) We’ve extended the use of Section 60 powers in parts of Whitmore Reans and Low Hill from this evening. This allows us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds. It follows a shooting last Friday in which two men have tragically died. Duaine Mills was pronounced dead at the scene in Leicester Street following the fatal attack at around 3.10am and Syed Zain Ali, passed away in hospital on Wednesday. They will be in place in the area on the map, from 6pm today (Saturday) until 2am tomorrow morning (Sunday). As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe and you can find out more about Stop and Search here: Our officers will remain a visible presence in the area to offer reassurance to the local community. Our local team will continue to visit and speak with residents from across our diverse communities around the area. We’ve been carrying out a range of engagement activities and we’re keen to hear from anyone with any information which could assist the investigation.
