We’ll continue to have Section 60 powers in place across parts of Whitmore Reans and Low Hill this evening and overnight.

It follows a shooting last Friday in which two men have died.

Duaine Mills was pronounced dead at the scene in Leicester Street following the fatal attack at around 3.10am and Syed Zain Ali, passed away in hospital on Wednesday.

Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.

They will be in place in the area on the map, from 6pm today (Friday) until 2am tomorrow morning (Saturday).

As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.
