| #POWERS | We will be using Section 60 powers in parts of Birmingham tonight and into tomorrow morning following yesterday’s fatal stabbing. Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds. The powers will be in place from 4pm today (17 November) until 7am tomorrow (18 Nov) and will cover the area of Birmingham highlighted on the map. The Section 60 was put in place following a fatal stabbing in Hutton Road, Handsworth. As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.
