| I have read the intelligence assessment and have been briefed by Supt 2929 Philip ASQUITH. I am aware the area requested as a Section 60 S&S area forms part of a serious youth violence hotspot and recent issues lead me to believe that incidents and tensions are escalating. If not proactively managed through visible policing patrols and a section 60 authority it is highly likely further incidents of violence will occur involving young people and weapons, specifically knives or bladed articles. I am satisfied with the community consultation that has been carried out and the plan to message this out further through corporate communications and local NHT’s via the KIN network. I authorise the use of this tactic for a 6 hour from 19.00 hours 03/02/22 to 23.59 hours 03/02/22 period and will review this at point. |
