The polls are now open for young people across the West Midlands to vote for the Youth Commissioners who will represent their area.
Voting opened this morning for youngsters to have their say and help shape who will represent them in holding the police to account.
The Youth Commissioners’ role will be to advise the Police and Crime Commissioner on issues affecting young people across the region, as well as campaigning for change and getting a much closer look at the role of the police.

The election follows an extensive shortlisting process, with scores of young people applying to represent their peers.
Voting is all online, and can be done by clicking here.
A total of 16 Youth Commissioners will be elected across the region, representing:
- Birmingham
- Coventry
- Dudley
- Sandwell
- Solihull
- Walsall
- Wolverhampton
Any young person aged 11-18, living in the West Midlands, will be able to cast their vote.
West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster said: “Voting is now open for my next latest intake of Youth Commissioners, allowing our young people to have their say on who represents them.
“The Youth Commissioners play a crucial role in helping me keep young people safe. They will support me, by keeping me informed about the concerns and views of their generation.
“I want to wish all applicants the best of luck with their campaigns, and I look forward to welcoming our successful candidates”.
Voting will close on November 6.
