We are continuing to use Section 60 powers in parts of Washwood Heath and Ward End this evening.
It follows recent serious incidents including a firearms discharge in Ward End Park Road.
The Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds and will be in place for 12 hours from 6pm on 27 September until 6am on 28 September.
As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.
