Reason for Authority (Brief Summary for Publication)
We will be using Section 60 powers in parts of the Whitmore Reans and Low Hill areas of Wolverhampton this evening and overnight following a shooting last Friday in which two men have died.
Duaine Mills was pronounced dead at the scene in Leicester Street following the fatal attack at around 3.10am and Syed Zain Ali, passed away in hospital yesterday evening (Wednesday).
The Section 60 powers will be in place in the area on the map, from 6pm today (Thursday) until 2am tomorrow morning (Friday).
Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.
As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.
