#POWERS | We will be using Section 60 powers in parts of the Whitmore Reans area of Wolverhampton this evening and overnight following a firearms discharge this morning.
We were called to Leicester Street just after 3am this morning to reports of shots being fired.
Two men were found seriously injured in a vehicle.
A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was taken to hospital and remains in a life-threatening condition.
The powers will be in place in the area on the map, from 7pm today (Friday) until 7am tomorrow morning (Saturday).
Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.
As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.
