Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster has issued a statement following the Angiolini Inquiry report into the murder of Sarah Everard.
West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster said: “I welcome publication of the Angiolini Inquiry Part 1 Report into the brutal abduction, rape and murder of Sarah Everard by an officer of the Metropolitan Police.
“Preventing and tackling violence against women and girls and domestic abuse is a top priority, because of the catastrophic consequences. We must all be up-standers for the safety of women and girls and not bystanders for violence, abuse and intimidation.
“I will be giving careful consideration to the 16 Recommendations and holding the Chief Constable and West Midlands Police to account, to ensure immediate action is taken to remedy the issues identified within the Report.”
