The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, says he is delighted to announce that a police base in Quinton is to be retained, for the benefit of the people and community.

Simon Foster is approving the Chief Constable’s proposal in order to ensure there is a strong Neighbourhood Policing presence in Quinton.

The retained police base will house Neighbourhood Police Teams, who will be located within the community they are serving.

The move follows the launch of a new operational policing model, by the Chief Constable, earlier this year.

Quinton police base has been shut since 2019 because, following years of government cuts to policing, it was under-occupied.

It will now undergo a refurbishment and Neighbourhood Teams will be relocated in 2024.

The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, said: “This is excellent news for Quinton.

“When I was elected, I pledged to rebuild community policing – to keep people, families, businesses and communities, safe and secure – and this will help to do exactly that.

“I am delighted that Neighbourhood Officers will now have a base in Quinton, within the community they serve.”
