Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson has visited Unite the Union to discuss his work on diversity.
Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson said,
“I have made it a commitment to make West Midlands Police look more like the communities it serves and I am pleased that 30% of new officer applicants were from BME backgrounds.
“it is crucial for leaders in the police service to continue to put the message out there that policing is a career open to everyone.”
Stan Ruddock, chairman of Unite’s BAEM Committee, said: “It was an extremely informative talk that all of our members thoroughly enjoyed.
“The audience also found the work on hate crime particularly interesting and informative.
“We all loved it and are grateful for the PCC’s attendance.”
