Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster has secured more than £6.5 million funding to help victims of crime in the West Midlands.
The newly re-elected PCC said supporting victims will always remain one of his top priorities and this funding will enable victims to access the right help and support, when it is right for them.
The money has been secured from the Ministry of Justice, after a robust case was made by the PCC and will be used to commission a range of services across the West Midlands.
The Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, said: “I am pleased to announce that I have secured funding of more than £6.5 million from the Ministry of Justice, for the purpose of commissioning victims support services in the West Midlands for 2024/25.
“The rights and welfare of victims will always be a top priority for me, so that victims of crime are able to access the right help and support, in the right place and at the right time.
“As Police and Crime Commissioner, I commission a wide range of victim support services across the West Midlands. It is important people understand that they do not need to have reported the crime to the police in order to be able to access the victims support services that they need.
“I would encourage people to check out my website, for details of the services that are available.”
