Building Blocks is a charity run by West Midlands Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner.
How does Building Blocks help?
It funds youth projects, such as the Police Cadet Scheme in the West Midlands police force area, as well as other schemes with a particular emphasis on reducing drug abuse and diverting young people from crime. It aims to give vulnerable young people access to appropriate and high-quality services, regardless of their background.
Building Blocks aims to educate the public, especially young people, about the effects of crime including matters related to alcohol, drug and solvent abuse. We also support young people’s mental, moral and physical development whilst working to improve public safety and quality of life by preventing crime and protecting people and property.
£2,500 raised for the Cadet Leader Recruitment Programme
The Challenge
The Cadet Leader Recruitment Programme, plays a vital role in shaping the lives of young people, helping them develop new skills, build confidence, and prepare for bright futures.
In order to achieve this, Cadet Leaders are needed to bring their unique skills and experiences to inspire and support our young police cadets.
The Impact
The building blocks funding will help improve the quality and availability of Cadet Leaders. Their presence and support are the direct impact needed to achieve the scheme’s goals: shaping the lives of young people, helping them develop new skills, build confidence, and prepare for bright futures.
Without sufficient funding to support these leaders, the scheme’s ability to deliver this profound impact on the cadets is jeopardised. The investment ensures the continued success and positive future outcomes for the young people involved.
