Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Cllr Yvonne Mosquito have sent out the following message ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day:
Every day in the West Midlands we are fortunate that we are able to celebrate living in vibrant and thriving communities. Holocaust Memorial Day is an important day for reflection as we remember those who suffered and were persecuted.
Holocaust Memorial Day is about remembering those who were killed and those who survived, but also saying no to prejudice in all its forms.
With recent events around the world, commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day is more important than ever. We have to learn from the past as we work together to strengthen all our communities today.
We want to thank people from across all communities of the West Midlands for marking Holocaust Memorial Day. It is important that we keep those memories alive, but even more important that we take those memories and learn in future.
