The Accounts of the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Midlands and the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police are subject to External Audit by Paul Grady, Engagement Lead for Grant Thornton UK LLP, Colmore Plaza, 20 Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham, West Midlands, B4 6AT.
The Period for the Exercise of Public Rights as ordered by the above regulations will take place on weekdays between 6 June 2017 and 17 July 2017.
Within this period any person interested may inspect the accounts of the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Midlands and the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police and the accounting records for the year ended 31 March 2017 as regulated by S26 of the 2014 Act. To make an appointment contact the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Lloyd House, Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham, West Midlands, B4 6NQ.
Local Government electors for the West Midlands, or their representative, may also question the auditor about the accounting records by contacting the auditor at the address given to make arrangements to ask any questions.
A Local Government elector may object to the accounts of the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Midlands and the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police, asking that the auditor issues a report in the Public Interest and/or applies to the Court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law. Written notice of a proposed objection, and the grounds on which it is made, must be sent to the auditor and copied to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
The 2016-17 Statement of Accounts is unaudited and as published may be subject to change.
